Painter
Although largely inspired by nature’s juxtapositions of light and dark and contrasting textures, I rarely work from direct observations or photographs – instead preferring to paint from memory. This, coupled with my imagination, conveys my lived experience of the moment. Some of my compositions are based entirely on reminisces of my childhood. The process of recollection is as significant for me as is working with paint.
Usually working in oil and acrylic, I develop a series by doing small quick colour studies on a theme and then build them up simultaneously.
